My husband and I are in Arizona this week visiting my parents. We decided to take an impromptu trip to the Grand Canyon.
This is a bucket list destination and I’m thrilled that we can cross it off. The photo doesn’t do the incredible beauty justice.
Wow!!!! That’s been on our bucket list for ages but I don’t think we’ll make it. Every photo I’ve seen of the grand canyon is so magnificent. Did you go out on that Skywalk?

We were at the south rim only, Kaye. The skywalk is at the north rim. I can tell you there’s no way I could go on it, though. I wish you could go to the GC. The national park is fantastic and there are shuttle buses to all the viewing spots so it’s quite accessible!

That is gorgeous. I’m petrified of heights and have always wondered if I’d be able to stand at the top of the Grand Canyon. I’d sure like to give it a try.

You really should go, Kathy. I felt a bit nervous about the height and told my husband I couldn’t have done this with the kids when they were small! There just aren’t enough railings in my opinion, lol.

This is one place I’d love to visit — fabulous Mary — several others have AZ shots this week as well.

How gorgeous! One of these days I’ve got to get out there and see if everyone who says photos don’t capture it is right!

You have to go, Cheryl! It’s worth the trip.

You’re right, Mary. No picture I’ve ever seen of the Grand Canyon, even this beautiful shot, can possibly do justice to the magnificence of the Grand Canyon. I don’t have the words to describe it either. I was awed by its grandeur; manmade sights can’t begin to approach what Mother Nature has accomplished here.

I’m enjoying all these beautiful photos of the landscape out west this week. While I’ve been to Arizona I’ve never visited the Grand Canyon. It’s one of those places that must be seen in person.

Leslie, you have such a good eye you’d love capturing the amazing vistas with your camera!

Sometimes the beauty of mother natures work is impossible to reflect in a photo, but it’s a pretty good one. so glad you can cross it off your list.

I haven’t been to the Grand Canyon either. I cannot compete with that. When my daughter and her fiance were in New Zealand, she said the same thing. The photo doesn’t do the place justice.

I’ve heard New Zealand is a beautiful country – maybe I need to add it to my list 🙂

There seems to have been lots and lots of book bloggers in this general vicinity during the past week. Perhaps I should organize a Southwestern Book Bloggers Convention!
You’re right– there’s no way a camera can do the Grand Canyon justice, but that photo’s still marvelous.

Cathy, I get here at least once a year between January and March so if you ever organize a get-together I’d try to plan my trip around it! I was sorry I missed the Tucson Book event.

The Grand Canyon is such an awesome place. I’m lucky enough to have 3 visits under my belt, and has been to both the south- and north rim. I’d love to go back 🙂

Eva, I’m so impressed you’ve been there so many times. I would definitely go back if I have the chance. I’d like to spend more time and hike a few trails.

What a gorgeous photo! I’ve never been there, but the plane I was on from Tucson to Salt Lake City flew over it for several minutes and it was such a treat. I didn’t get any photos though, partly because I was in the aisle seat.

It is beautiful! I’ve only been to the Grand Canyon once and was 15 so I didn’t appreciate it. Was a detour on our trip to California so we literally got out of the car, took pictures, and headed on our merry way. So wish to go back!
