Finish the Series 2016 Challenge Wrap-Up

I’ve been working toward reading three series for a few years. In 2016 I managed to finish reading the Brothers Sinister series by Courtney Milan:

2011 Challenge Wrap Up

Each year I’ve participated in few challenges. In 2011 I signed on to:

The 2011 Reading From My Shelves Project

The Reagan Arthur Books Challenge

The War & Peace Read Along

So these were very relaxed challenges. If you click on The Reagan Arthur Challenge link above you’ll see I read only two books this year. One was sent to me by the publisher and the other I bought. I enjoyed both books.

The War & Peace Challenge was supposed to end today but several weeks ago I received an email saying it would be extended to mid-2012. That’s all I needed to hear! Since I’m on page 1061 of 1215 I hope to finish it well before June.

Now lets talk about the 2011 Reading From My Shelves Project. I’ve joined the past couple of years and was content with the 20+ books I cleared off my shelves each year. Silly me. I think for every book I cleared off the shelves four more appeared. How does that happen?!! That is the reason I’ve decided to make 2012 the year of reading mostly from my shelves. I’ll read a few review books but only books I really, really want to read.

That’s my plan. Thank you so much for visiting Bookfan this year. I love your comments and book suggestions, etc.

I wish you all a New Year filled with good health, good friends, and good books to read.

Happy New Year!

Okra Picks Challenge Wrap-Up

The Okra Picks Challenge ended on March 31 (where did the time go?!) so I thought I’d do a wrap-up post.  I committed to the “Goober” level: read 1-3 books.  My result: I read 2.  You can read more about the challenge here and my review links here.

Thanks to Kathy at BermudaOnion’s Weblog for hosting the challenge.  I enjoyed it and will check out more of the challenge authors in the future.

2010 Reading Challenges Wrap Up

First up is the 2010 Reading From My Shelves Project. The goal was to read at least 20 books from my TBR shelves.  I read 24, yay!  I’ll probably sign up for the 2011 project just to keep moving books off the shelves (I give most of them away after I read them).

Next, my Summer 2010 Challenge.  This has been a personal challenge the past two summers to move books off the shelves during the summer months (kind of a sub-challenge of the 2010 RFMSP).  I challenged myself to read eight books.  Result: five.  I’m ok with that.

I signed up for the Reagan Arthur Books Challenge which is a perpetual challenge to read as many books of this imprint that appeal to me.  So far I’ve read and enjoyed three books. I plan to continue this challenge.

The Okra Picks Challenge is a six month challenge to read the Southern books selected by SIBA to handsell: the Okra Picks.  I signed on to read 1-3 books and so far I’ve read one.  I have until March 31 to read two more.

Last but not least is the 2010 Holiday Reading Challenge.  I need to read 1-5 holiday related books.  As of Dec. 4 I’ve read one book.  So, while not great, at least I’ve met the challenge!  I hope to read at least one more book for this challenge.
