  1. Mary, I think I’ve figured out how to comment here, so you’ll notice I’m using my blog name as my id. Ha! Anyway, we’ll see how it goes. Hope you guys are doing OK. We are fine here, though having my husband home working has been an adjustment for both of us. I just go out and walk a lot in the neighborhood. Ha! Take care!

    • I’m glad you found a way to comment, Kay! I wish I could say the same for your blog but I’ll keep trying. I enjoyed your photos – and watch out for those snakes! Something as innocent as a garter snake has me running, lol.

    • My neighborhood hasn’t brought the lights back out but I bet it looks pretty.
The Christmas book was a NG request after I’d read about it on another blog. I assumed it was from Christmas 2019 but its not! So this marks the earliest I’ve added a Christmas book to my review list 😀

    • I don’t generally worry about seasonal reading, I just go with whatever I feel like at the time. However, the same cannot be said for Christmas lights, I’m afraid. Our neighbours would think we had gone completely mad, although one of them is as bad as us for celebrating, so perhaps he might be persuaded!! – although he is still having to go to work as a ‘key worker’, so he may not see the funny side 🙂

  2. Early, or late?, for Christmas books but in a way they can be lovely any time of year and especially in tense times.
All four of your new books look good.
    Happy reading and stay safe!

    • It’s early because the pub date is in September 2020 – something I didn’t realize when I requested on NG. I might read it in July 😀

We are well and “sheltering at home” on the direction of our governor. And our temps are beginning to rise into the 40s and 50s – all good! Have a great week, Katherine!

  3. Hi Mary,

This self-isolation game for 12 weeks, is going to be tougher than I thought, but I have to do it to support hubbie, as he is a key government worker, who has had to be sent home from the frontline, so to speak!

I have no shortage of things to do, (the stockpiling of books, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzle books and knitting wool, has really paid off big time), however getting into a whole new routine without feeling guilty and finding that initial burst of concentration to overcome the social isolation, is proving more difficult than I thought!

Your display of books really does have that feel-good factor and I really like the sound of ‘Becoming Mrs. Lewis’ and ‘The Darkness We Hide’. I shall also be looking out for your thoughts about ‘The Light After The War’.

Have a great reading week and I hope that you all stay safe! 🙂

    • Yvonne, I’m sending good wishes to you and your husband. We are under a “shelter at home” order in my state so except for a daily walk (keeping social distancing in mind) and an occasional run to the grocery store, we are staying put. I have plenty to read and have been catching up on a few television shows. And we video chat with family. It’s not difficult to quarantine these days. Stay well and have a good week!
