Exciting news about one of my favorite authors!
Netflix has ordered 10 episodes of Virgin River, a contemporary romance based on the beloved, 20-book Harlequin series from #1 New York Times bestseller Robyn Carr. The series has sold more than 13 million copies worldwide.
Reel World Management and Roma Roth are producing the series; Sue Tenney will serve as showrunner and executive producer; and Roma Roth and Chris Perry will executive produce. The series will start production later this year.
About the series:
Melinda Monroe answers an ad to work as a nurse practitioner in the remote California town of Virgin River thinking it will be the perfect place to start fresh and leave her painful memories behind. But she soon discovers that small-town living isn’t quite as simple as she expected and that she must learn to heal herself before she can truly make Virgin River her home.
About the author:
Robyn Carr is the author of more than 50 novels, which have sold over 28 million copies worldwide. She has written 11 #1 New York Times bestsellers. Her upcoming novel, The Best of Us, will be released on January 8th, 2019.
I know Mary, fantastic isn’t it. This is one of my top fav series. Many years ago when I was yearning for something good to read, I risked it and sent off to the USA for Virgin River. And now I have every book sitting still on my bookshelf. Its wonderful for Robyn Carr and …. for us!

Great news! Virgin River was my first book from Robyn Carr, and I was hooked, even though I haven’t read as many of her books as I would like.
Thanks for sharing the news.

Thanks for stopping, Laurel. VR was my first book of hers to read as well. It will be interesting to see the cast!

Thanks for your comment, Kathleen. I think Robyn’s chat room was how we first “met”! I’m so excited about this and now I’m tempted to go back and read the first book – I almost never re-read a book.

I love this! Virgin River came into my hands at just the right moment for me. It was a tough emotional time and the series was great for me to read during that period. I think I’ve read all of it and recently thought about reading it again. I’ve recommended it to many people. Now a TV adaptation, which I’ll try, but no promises. Sometimes I like them and sometimes I don’t. Ha!

Kay, thanks for sharing. Isn’t it wonderful when a book can help us through tough times. I’ve found the same over the past several years. Robyn Carr is on my short list of trusted, go-to authors. Fingers crossed that her books are in great hands and transfer to the screen the way we’ve always imagined.

I may have done a little dance of glee when I saw this! I haven’t actually read any books from this series but I am a fan of the Sullivan’s Crossing series.
