Sunday Post

I received a couple of books in my mailbox last week amid all the Christmas festivities. I hope you all had a good week and (perhaps) received books or bookstore gift cards. My family no longer tries to guess if I’ve read a book or not so it’s not an issue. I love to receive gift cards though 🙂

A relative loaned me her copy of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. Honestly, I’ve read so many reviews for it that I feel like I’ve read it. I’ll give it a try to see if I can come up with some good hints for simplifying. We’ve been working on our basement for the past few months.

  1. What We Find looks really tempting. I have Virgin River, by this author, and hope to read it soon. Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.

I really enjoyed the movie Joy…it was emotional and inspiring.

  2. I didn’t love Tidying Up but I did get a lot out of it – more than I thought at first. It helped kind of readjust my thinking about what to keep and what to get rid of which is always good. Robyn Carr is an author I’m really looking forward to reading. I have the first few of her Thunder Point series. Have a great week!

  3. Always lovely to receive books no matter what the season but I admit to feeling sorry for our postman who as well as struggling with all of our Christmas deliveries had to cope with parcels of books as well.

I know just what you mean when you say you have read so much about a book that you feel as if you have already read it. Isn’t it awful when having heard so much about a novel you find yourself disagreeing with a lot of what has been said?

  4. Hi Mary! Happy New Year (early)! I couldn’t get into the Tidying Up book – maybe that’s why my house is a mess! We’re snuggled in here in Texas with awful weather! Thank goodness for books! Happy Reading!

  5. I need to get into the The Life-changing Magic of Tidying Up but I’m just not feeling it yet lol. I’d rather read something like A Taste of Heaven, looking forward to your thoughts Mary. Have a wonderful week 🙂

    • Honestly, I haven’t been feeling it either but my sister-in-law pressed it into my hands on Christmas Eve – think she’s trying to tell me something???

  6. Hi Mary,

The cover of ‘A Taste Of Heaven’ had me fooled, as I really thought it was going to be a serious cookery book. I wouldn’t reject either of your books out of hand, as every now and then, mood calls for something a little more light hearted to read than my usual thrillers and crime stories. I have also heard good things about the writing of Robyn Carr.

Thanks for sharing, enjoy your reading in 2016 and have a Happy New Year 🙂
