I checked out The Expatriates, and now I must read it! While my son living in Europe for more than a decade makes him an “expatriate,” China must be a very different kind of life. I am curious.

I think living there would take me a while to get used to but then I’d probably love it. Most of the characters didn’t have to worry about much as far as money, social status, etc goes. Happiness is another matter though.
