FitReaders2015

I’ve had a Fitbit for almost two years and have found it to be an amazing motivator. Although my steps took a nose dive a few months ago I’m feeling much better lately and they’re on the uptick again. Yay! So, here are my stats for my first week with the #Fitreaders:

  • Sat:  12,071
  • Sun:  12,455
  • Mon:  11,564
  • Tues:  10,475
  • Wed:  12,513
  • Thurs:  12,473
  • Fri:  6,010

I think I’ll go to a separate post for Fitreaders starting next week. I think it deserves its own post 🙂  Have a great week!

    • I’m finding the book quite good – readable and filled with useful info. We’ve had snow so I’ve been on the treadmill- and reading on my iPad 🙂

  1. Good for you for committing to fitness. Winter is bad for me… I hate to go out in the cold. My pedometer keeps track of my steps and sadly it’s reading zero for the week. Time to drag out the yoga mat!

  2. That’s a lot of steps Mary. I have a Fitbit that I wear regularly since June, and it does motivate you and make you more aware of calories as well. (I’m a low achiever – 6,000 steps a day minimum:)

Can’t wait to try the Lisa Genova book as well; enjoy

  3. I am in awe of your step performance! Way to go! I’m doing #fitreaders with you and cheering you on. Inside the O’Brien’s looks great. Enjoy 🙂

    • Thanks, Lucy. I’ll be cheering you on as well. I have a treadmill so I usually take an early morning walk and a mid afternoon one. It works for me.

  4. Yay on the fitness work. Your titles look good. I will add them to my wish folder as I’m trying to resist purchases for three months. 🙂 Happy Reading!

    • I really need to try to limit my purchases. I’m not that bad but I wonder sometimes if I’ll ever read all the books on my shelves/reader in my lifetime! Have a good week, Martha.

  5. Hi Mary,

I used to do a lot of walking when I was volunteering, however circumstances have dictated that I need to return to full time paid work, which unfortunately means I will be desk bound once again, so I shall now have to seek out alternative ways to do my daily steps!

Both of your books are medically oriented this week, so I sincerely hope that neither condition is one which affects either yourself, or any close family member. Whilst I am not a fan of non fiction reading, I quite like that an illness has been worked into a fictional story, in ‘Inside The O’Briens’ and look forward to your thoughts about the way the illness is presented by the author.

    Have a good reading week.

    • Thanks, Yvonne. Unfortunately the Lupus book is for me. I was diagnosed in November after months of wondering what the heck was wrong with me. I’m feeling much better these days.
I recommend Lisa Genova’s books. Have a good week!

    • Thanks, Sam, I’m finding the lupus book quite helpful.
I think 9000 is great! Some days I get more, some less and it all averages out by the end of the week 🙂

    • I’m really enjoying First Frost – 50% in and wanting it not to end 🙂 That’s how I usually feel about her books. Have a good week, Pat!

  6. Wonderful job with your fit-readers steps. I hope you enjoy your books as well. First Frost sound like great read. My need to pick it up when i have time to renew my library card and do not have many books to read. Enjoy.

  7. Mary, I’ve heard good things about Fitbit. I use Motion-X GPS to track walks and runs. Enjoy your reading time this week. Happy Monday!

  8. I loved Lisa Genova’s Still Alice, I should read another of her books, any recommendations Mary? Maybe I should see if Inside the O’Briens is available to me on NetGalley (not that I know what it’s even about lol)
Woohoo, well done on those steps, you had a fantastic week! I do love my little fitbit and next week I’m also going to start a separate post for FitReaders.
Have a wonderful week and happy reading 🙂

    • I also read Love Anthony. Left Neglected is on my TBR list. I love how much I learn from her novels.

    • It took me a few weeks (it’s a chunkster!) to read it but I think people who love to read about anything royal will like A Royal Experiment. My review will post next week.
