I don’t know that I’ve ever read A Tale of Two Cities. I have read a few Dickens book, but I think that’s one that I haven’t made it to. At least not yet.

Hi Mary,
‘The Lemon Orchard’ seems to have received some excellent reviews all round and is already on my list.
It is about to be joined by ‘The Last Original Wife’, as I just love that synopsis. I note that the book has received some pretty scathing reviews, but I believe that most reviews are quite subjective and what one person may enjoy another may not, and vice versa, so I shall try it for myself!
I am constantly amazed when I talk to friends and colleagues, just how few of them are still married to their original husbands, in fact I think that I must be part of a dying breed, after 34 years married to the same man!! I am so looking forwad to reading this new to me author.
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your books.

Hi Yvonne, thanks for visiting. My review of The Lemon Orchard will post this week (on Thursday). I enjoyed it. If you can get the audiobook of The Last Original Wife, I recommend it. I thought the narrator added to the novel.
Re: scathing reviews – I don’t get it. Why people can’t explain how a book didn’t work for them without getting nasty is beyond me. I usually discount their opinion.
My husband and I have been married for 34 years (this October) but, like you, have many friends whose marriages didn’t last. Three of my siblings are divorced. I have to say they seem happier post-divorce! I guess my husband and I got lucky 😉
