Sunday Post

The past week was a good one. I’ve been reading some wonderful books – actually, 2012 has been a great year for fiction, hasn’t it? I posted my thoughts about Love Anthony by Lisa Genova. For fun I listened to an older Lisa Kleypas novel. I also read Joanne DeMaio’s lovely Whole Latte Life for an upcoming blog tour.

Earlier in the week I drove across state to visit my parents. The fall colors were fantastic. Here are a couple of pics my dad took:

The house on the right is where I grew up

A view of the back yard. See the green space after the sidewalk ends?

There was a swimming pool in that spot for thirty years!

What have you been reading lately that you recommend? If you’re in the path of Hurricane Sandy, stay safe!

  1. The color of the leaves on the tree in the front yard are so gorgeous!! I grew up with an in-ground swimming pool too. It’s not there any longer either!! Sounds like you had a restful week and I’m so glad that you were able to spend some time with your parents!!!

    • It was just getting too much for my dad to maintain so when a new liner was needed they decided to get rid of the pool. Many happy days were spent in and around it. The grandkids are at ages now where they don’t get back to visit so the pool rarely got used. Kind of sad but that’s life I guess.
I had a great visit with them.

  2. I love the colours of Fall… I have had a quiet week. I have been catching up on some TV shows I had PVR’s and reading. I have read Dream Lake by Lisa Kleypas, Can’t Hurry Love by Molly O’Keefe and I am currently reading Echoes at Dawn by Maya Banks… Going to have to start on my Holiday reading sooner that I would like. I have so many to read… Like Robyn Carr’s, My Kind of Christmas and Susan Mallery’s Fool’s Gold Christmas, just to name a few.
    Happy weekend..

    • I want to read Dream Lake. What did you think about it, Kathleen? I also have the Robyn Carr Christmas book lined up to read. Just trying to hold off for a few weeks 😉

      • i really like it Mary. It had some beautiful sweet tender moments that made be sad, but happy at the same time… I think that this book and Alex Nolan were my fav in this series… There is so much more depth to him as you start to read about him than meets the eye… I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

  4. I got Whole Latte Life as a Kindle Freebie a few weeks ago. I couldn’t pass up a book with a delicious latte on the cover. 🙂 I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts!

  5. What gorgeous fall colors, Mary! We just really don’t get any of that here in Texas. Not cool enough. Fall usually comes to us practically overnight. The leaves turn brown and then fall off. Again, practically overnight.
