Mailbox Monday – April 18

hosted in April at Passages To The Past

I bought three books that have been on my wish list for a while:

Goodreads: The war has not yet touched this city of fallen grandeur, or the lives of two sisters, Tatiana and Dasha Metanova, who share a single room in a cramped apartment with their brother and parents. Their world is turned upside down when Hitler’s armies attack Russia and begin their unstoppable blitz to Leningrad . . .

Jane Austen’s beloved Sense and Sensibility has moved to Westport, Connecticut, in this enchanting modern-day homage to the classic novel.

As 28 year old New York paralegal Rebecca Strand’s widowed father lays dying, he confesses a secret: he had an affair 26 years earlier when Rebecca was just a toddler. Now he wants Rebecca to deliver the secret stash of letters he wrote, but never mailed, to the daughter he fathered.

  1. Let us know what you think of the Three Weissmanns of Westport. This one caught my eye quite a while back.

Have a good day and happy reading, Mary!

  2. I am going to look up The Bronze Horseman and the other two are also completely new to me. Happy to hear that you got these 3 off the wishlist now…. That makes it what… 3 off and 108 to go ;P

  3. These all look fabulous, but The Bronze Horseman is one I’m definitely checking out a bit more. The premise of The Secret of Joy is intriguing… seriously, how WOULD someone react to that type of revelation? Enjoy all of the new reads!

  4. I have The Bronze Horseman on my bookshelf, but have yet to read it. Your other two books sound really good, especially The Secret of Joy. Enjoy all your books!

  5. I saw The Bronze Horseman on a sale list last week and was tempted. I’m curious to see what you think of it. I love Melissa Senate but haven’t read that book yet. I hope these are all great reads!

  6. These all 3 look fabulous! Hope you enjoy them! Thank you for stopping by my blog.

  7. Nice mailbox. Does it happen to you where as you cross off titles on your TBR that more titles naturally add themselves to the list? Happens to me a lot.

    Enjoy your books! =)
