Author: Teresa Medeiros
Genre: Fiction
About: (Back of the book) Abigail Donovan has a lot of stuff she should be doing. Namely writing her next novel. A bestselling author who is still recovering from a near Pulitzer Prize win and the heady success that follows Oprah’s stamp of approval, she is stuck at Chapter Five and losing confidence daily. But when her publicist signs her up for a Twitter account, she’s intrigued. What’s all the f…more
My thoughts: At first glance, Goodnight Tweetheart is a light-hearted novel. The tweets are witty and clever and filled with of-the-moment social references (songs, movies, tv shows, etc). Little by little Medeiros revealed details about Abby and Mark that drew me in and made me care about them. I went into the book thinking this could never happen in real life. Though I’m still a skeptic, what surprised me was how much I wanted to see a happily-ever-after for the two characters. I enjoyed their story.
Rating: 4/5 stars
Recommend? Yes. Perfect for the beach, a cross-country flight or a cold winter night.

Sounds like a nice book to read. I love your review style. I have been getting way to wordy on my reviews and need to just get to the point like you! Awesome review!

Hi Cheryl. I use a review style that I found at Lynne’s Book Reviews
I asked Lynne if I could use it and, happily, she gave me the ok!
I don’t mind reading wordy reviews but only after I’ve read the book. I’m afraid there could be spoilers.

Hmmm maybe my library will consider a request for this one. The world is all about twitter now… feel so behind the times. Mrs Q loves Twitter but I can’t imagine anybody wanting to know what I’m up to… Hmmm they would have to put a PG 13 rating on mine ;P
Good review and will be on lookout for this Medeiros book.

I love the idea of this book. Not being a twitter person I would love to see how a novel handles the phenomenon.

I’m totally loving the idea of a book filled with tweets that as the story progresses you can actually see the growth!!! I loved a few books I’ve read in the past that were all email messages..such fun! Thanks for a great review and I’m going to see if my library has this one 😀

Like you I had to suspend disbelief in parts of the plot. However, I loved the banter and the pop culture references (how did the author ever find time to watch all those shows?) and learned a few things about twitter at the same time.

Hmmmm – I didn’t realize she had written a contemporary. I’ve loved many of her historicals so I might just have to give this one a try.

It sounds very up to the minute. And maybe it could show me what I could use Twitter for. I just don’t fully “grasp” the concept.

I liked this book, but there was just enough to it that I wanted more, and wasn’t quite content with it as a fun fluffy read (and I do like fun fluffy reads!). I’m glad you enjoyed it.
