I was reading outside yesterday and looked up to see this beautiful
tiger swallowtail butterfly land on the privet hedge.

Yes we seem to have a lot of butterflies this year which is surprising given that they say they are declining in numbers here in the uk.

I’m never prepared! We were on the way to the library one day and saw a gorgeous great blue heron and I tried to take a pic with my phone but of course he flew off long before I got out of the car! Dang and blast!! He was a beauty.

That’s how I usually am, Kaye. I had my phone with me and that is how I caught the butterfly. Wish I could have zoomed in a bit more.

wow! how pretty is that butterfly?! we don’t get those here where i live (the only ones i see are monarchs and those white ones). looks like a great week for you mary 🙂

I love to sit outside and read too. I haven’t seen very many butterflies yet, but I’ve had quite the assortment of hummingbirds!! Lovely photo..Have a great week!
